Latest Cases for CNC Turned Parts
Why Choose us ?
At Rapid Protos (RPS), we have become a trusted CNC machining partner with advanced equipment, a professional team, and excellent service. Here are seven reasons to choose us:
What is CNC Turning Service ?
CNC turning service is a precision machining method based on CNC technology (CNC, Computer Numerical Control), mainly used to process symmetrical cylindrical or conical parts. Through CNC lathes, the relative movement between the high-speed rotating workpiece and the fixed tool is used to achieve precise cutting of various features such as the outer circle, inner hole, thread, groove, groove, etc. of the part. CNC turning service has the characteristics of high precision, high efficiency, diversity and flexibility.
CNC turning is widely used in industries such as automobiles, aerospace, medical equipment, consumer electronics and industrial automation, and is an important technology indispensable for manufacturing high-quality parts.
How Does CNC Lathe Work ?
CNC lathe processing is mainly through the rotary motion of cylindrical blanks. Usually, the material to be processed is cylindrical or circular, and the tool is fed along the axial direction to process accurate diameters and reasonable processing depths. . It is mainly used for cutting the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of shaft parts or disk parts, the inner and outer conical surfaces of arbitrary cone angles, the complex rotary inner and outer curved surfaces, cylinders, and conical threads, etc., and can perform grooving, drilling, reaming, and reaming. Holes and borings, etc. to obtain tubular parts with various shapes.
However, turning can work on materials of different shapes when using different turning tools. It is worth noting that there are different cutter heads on the turret of CNC lathes or turning centers. The more tools that can be accommodated, the more complex the machine and the more suitable for complex shaft-type parts processing.

Tolerances for CNC Turning Parts
As a company that is ISO 9001 certified, we machine CNC turning lathe parts to meet requirements for tight tolerances. Depending on the design you give us, our CNC lattes can have tolerances as small as 0.005″ ISO 2768-m is our standard for CNC-milled metals, and ISO 2768-c is our standard for CNC-milled plastics.
| Type | Tolerance |
|---|---|
| Linear dimension | +/- 0.025 mm (+/- 0.001 inch) |
| Hole diameters (not reamed) | +/- 0.025 mm (+/- 0.001 inch) |
| Shaft diameters | +/- 0.025 mm (+/- 0.001 inch) |
| Part size limit | 950 * 550 * 480 mm (37.0 * 21.5 * 18.5 inch) |

Model: Acylic, Nylon, HDPE, PEEK, PC, PTFE(Teflon), PE, PVC, ABS etc.
Surface Finish Options
After the parts are processed, the surface treatment is carried out to form a unique surface layer to meet the hardness, corrosion resistance, and appearance requirements of the product. The choice of surface treatment depends on the material properties and application of the part. RPS offers the following surface treatment options for CNC-machined metal parts:

Anodizing can improve the corrosion resistance of aluminum alloys, increase the surface hardness and wear resistance, and have a good appearance after the coloring surface treatment.

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike traditional liquid paint, which is applied with an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and cured with heat or ultraviolet light.

Black oxide, or blackening, is a conversion coating for ferrous metals, stainless steel, copper and copper-based alloys, zinc, powdered metals, and silver solder. It produces an oxide film on the metal surface to add modest corrosion resistance, improve appearance, and reduce light reflection. Black oxide must be treated with oil or wax to provide maximum corrosion resistance.

Bead blasting produces a smooth, matte-textured surface, and sharp edges can be broken and deburred for safe handling. Bead blasting can also improve the mechanical strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of parts.

Electroplating is the process of coating an object in a layer of metal using electrodeposition. Electroplating is widely used to improve the surface qualities of metals, such as resistance to abrasion and corrosion, lubricity, reflectivity, and electrical conductivity. Electroplating can also make metals look better.

Polishing is a technique for creating a smooth and shiny surface by rubbing it or applying a chemical treatment. The process creates a surface with significant specular reflection, but it can also reduce diffuse reflection in some materials.

Brushing is a surface treatment process in which an abrasive belt is used to draw marks and lines on the surface of products to achieve a decorative texture.
